Celibacy can be a choice in life or a condition imposed by circumstances.
While attending a Marriage Weekend, Walter and his wife, Ann, listened to the instructor declare, 'It is essential that husbands and wives know the things that are important to each other.'
He then addressed the men, 'For instance, can you name and describe your wife's favorite flower?'
Walter leaned over, touched Ann's arm gently, and whispered, 'Gold Medal All-Purpose, isn't it?'
And thus began Walter's life of celibacy.
And yet Walter probably knew his wife better than some!
ReplyDeleteWhen newly married, my hubby and I served a flourless chocolate cake to a small dinner party that included the single pastor at our college campus church. After the first bite, the pastor takes a deep sigh, closes his eyes, leans back in his chair and says, "Oh, this is God's answer to celibacy!"
Ha! That's great. Fortunately I know my girlfriends favorite flower, her birthday, her favorite dinner and cake. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a sex thing, eh? Well, there you go. I always thought it was a cross between celery and a bass.

ReplyDeleteHa funny story! When I was first married my hubby would put a condiment on everything and I grew up putting condiments on only burgers and hotdogs. So this would make me mad that he would douse my good food with condiments. How dare he put A-1 on my perfectly marinated steak!! So one morning at breakfast (he was having cereal) I put every condiment on the table. I think he got the hint.
