This is such a refreshing combination of flavors. Ice cold cubed watermelon, slices of Vidalia onions, and fresh mint dressed in a vinaigrette and topped with feta cheese. Mmm!
Paula Deen knew what she was doing when she cooked this up, y'all. Take this dish to a potluck and surprise everyone who thought watermelon was just for dessert!
Karen, it certainly is worth a try. I tried one last week that came highly recommended - watermelon and feta - which didn't work for me. This sounds better.
ReplyDeleteLooks refreshing :)
ReplyDeleteOh yum. This definitely looks like it'd be worth trying. Stopping by today via girlichef, btw. It's nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteAhhh, I heart watermelon with Feta...nice going!
ReplyDeleteKaren- This looks gorgeous, I can NOT wait to try the watermelon/feta/mint combo. Ive been reading a few recipes bout it and have been wanting to try. Cant go wrong with Ms. Deen
ReplyDeleteWatermelon, feta and mint sounds like an excellent combination, a very refreshing salad!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous combination of flavors! I love the contrast of flavors between salty feta and sweet watermelon.
ReplyDeleteMy apologies for being absent from your blog recently! I'm now starting to catch up on the great posts I've missed.
Your recipe looks much healthier than the one over at my place today :-)
ReplyDeleteI am actually eating watermelon while I am reading your watermelon recipe! It looks terrific!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for visiting me!
I would never think to do watermellon & feta together but the sweet & salty must work really well.
ReplyDeleteI agree this is a very nice salad. Sometimes ole Paula can come up with something nice and healthy.
ReplyDeleteI think I would love this.
ReplyDeleteI have mint in my yard.... watermelon in my fridge. Can I use a Walla Walla sweet onion in place of a vidalia?
karen ive never tried water melon in my salad.. but sure gonna try this one.. sound delish.. yumm!! cant wait..
ReplyDeletecheers!!
Watermelon goes surprisingly well with feta. I will have to try adding the Vidalias and a vinaigrette the next time I have a watermelon.
