Bloody Maria

Bloody Maria with Shimp

The snow is falling today and we're ringing out the old and bringing in the new with this South of the Border Bloody Maria with Shrimp!

This recipe makes two tall glasses of goodness!  Seasonings may be adjusted to your taste.

Happy New Year!  Enjoy!

24 oz Clamato
1 tsp prepared horseradish
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 T lemon juice
15 dashes hot sauce (Tabasco or your favorite)
Freshly ground pepper to taste
3 oz. Tequila
Ice cubes
4 cooked, chilled shrimp

Shake Clamato, horseradish, Worcestershire, lemon juice, hot sauce, pepper and tequila in a large glass jar with tight-fitting lid.  Fill two tall glasses with ice and divide the mixture between the glasses.  Garnish each drink with two shrimp, celery and lemon slice.

  1. OMG! that looks delicious! Happy new year, Karen!

  2. How festive. Unfortunately, you'll have to keep my share of the shrimp. It's an annoying allergy.

    Happy New Year!

  3. tequila... That Maria knows her stuff!!!

  4. Mmm tequila and a spicy delicious beverage! Awesome way to ring in the new year. My best to you and your family! It's gonna be a good one...

  5. Keep mine on ice, be there in 5.

  6. Happy New Year Karen. Love that drink and your favorites!

  7. I'm on the perpetual quest for the perfect Bloody Mary (or Maria in this case!). I can't wait to try it!

  8. Oh ya Karen! You know what I like ~ that looks like the perfect bloody. :) Cheers!!

  9. I used to make these at the bar. Big hit even using celery instead of shrimp. If I had thought of the shrimp these would have been a huge hit. I'll have to pass it along to my girlfriend who is a freak for Clamato Bloody Marys. (I'm not sure about the plural of Mary. LOL)
