Pinwheel Cookies

Inspired by Greg's Chocolate Marble Cookies, which he adapted from Martha's Checkerboard Cookies, I once again confirmed my dislike for making cookies.

This dough was kind of crumbly, but I love that they went directly into the refrigerator (instead of the oven) for a bit. That way I can clean up the kitchen before slicing and baking them (am I the only one who makes a huge mess while baking?)

I love the spirals and it's a not-too-sweet cookie, if that's what you're looking for. I think these would be pretty stacked, wrapped in wax paper and tied with a red ribbon to give to a teacher, a neighbor, or in my case... my gardener!

  2. I'm on the not-so-much liking to make cookies bandwagon. When I do, I prefer to do bars, or the ones that are just spooned onto the cookie sheet. What I really want to comment on is that mango bread pudding. Oh my it looks delicious AND my husband came home with an entire box of 12 mangoes from Costco on Saturday. They are just about right to make that pudding and I'm going to do just that for our weekend enjoyment. Thanks so much

    Best,
    Bonnie

  3. Oh.. those take me back to when I was a kid. My mom used to make pinwheel cookies all the time. Here's something I just now remembered... she was baking them the day that President Kennedy was shot and we heard it on TV. Strange how things like that come back to you all these years later.

  13. So cool you made these because I am a cookie novice myself. And a less than sweet cookie is my thing. GREG
