Each Wednesday, Debbie at The Friday Friends invites us to share a picture of what's outside our kitchen window. I'm playing, but I'm showing you the progress of my garden. You'll remember a few weeks ago that it had snowed so we were at a standstill.
But this week...
This week the seeds we started indoors have sprouted and are doing well.We got a few geraniums in hanging pots for the deck.
This is Chocolate Mint. I don't know yet what I'm going to do with it... I'll have to find some recipes, but it smells so good I just had to buy it.
This is a beautiful plant I got for Mother's Day that will sit out on the deck. And here are more geraniums, marigolds and some ground cover.
Here is a bag of potting soil. What's that white stuff?
This is what I woke up to this morning. Snow. May 13. This looks like the same picture from a few weeks ago, but it is different, trust me.
Hurry up Spring!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what comes of the chocolate mint.
NO KIDDING!?!#* snow.
ReplyDeleteSnow?
well....I might have put mine in too early. We'll have to wait and see.
I wish I had your will-power. No brownies? No Oreos?
I love your pictures. I've put out my herbs and geraniums. Here's hoping winter is really behind us.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness.. snow in May! Your flowers and herbs look like they are off to a great start.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait until I live outside of the city and can experiment with gardening - right now I just don't have the space. Plus, I kill anything I try to grow!
ReplyDeleteSnow again - hope you get to plant out soon. Puts missing the sun into perspective! I'm hoping to start harvesting radishes soon here - yum.
ReplyDeleteVerrrry nice garden.
ReplyDeleteChocolate mint?! What are you going to do with it? The possibilites are endless.
Snow?!? Your plants look so nice and I am really wanting to smell your chocolate mint - yum.
ReplyDeleteOh Karen I so feel for you! At least you get to enjoy your lovely colors indoors for a while until they get put into the ground, that is if it ever thaws. In the first shot are those herbs?
ReplyDeleteI am impressed by your dedication :-) Can't wait to see what it looks like in the yard!
Now that Spring is really, officially, sticking around for a while, I'll have to make my annual trip to the garden store for things to kill.
ReplyDelete(Not that that's ever the original intent.)
Snow still? We're having rain almost every day. I did get most of my garden planted, but it's really water-logged, even in raised beds!
ReplyDeleteYour plants are gorgeous looking!
Will spring ever get here!! It's so cool here it's unbelieveable, I guess that's not as bad as snow though!! We planted our garden a couple weeks ago and are getting little sprouts coming up!! I can't wait to see it produce veggies!!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you have snow!! I'm glad your plants are safe!
ReplyDeleteOh Karen, more snow?! Arrgh.
ReplyDeleteYour plants look so healthy, but I'm sure it's quite an adjustment from CA's climate. I blew it the first year I moved up here and put the seedlings out too early. I quickly learned that May 15 is our last predicted frost date for my gardening zone; quite an adjustment from CA.
Thank goodness you held off planting. It won't be long before your garden is flourishing... can't wait to see the pictures! :)
xo~m
Crazy weather this year. When we have some nice weather its so hard to wait to put plants into the ground. Mother's Day is usually the cut off around here.
ReplyDeleteOMG, snow. I would be completely depressed. Your plants are looking really healthy. I bet that chocolate mint smells heavenly!
ReplyDeleteI have my little garden too! I love harvest my herbs and cook!
ReplyDeleteSnow in MAY? Your poor little herbs, but they will survive.
ReplyDeleteMy romaine lettuce is just about to be made into a caesar salad!
I was complaining about the wind and cool temps but after seeing this, I'll keep the whining to myself. Hope it's all melted by now!
ReplyDeleteYikes! Snow? Thyme for you to move back to N.E gf! :) I hope it melts soon for you Karen.
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous of people that can grow things! I don't have a green thumb at all :( I heard about the snow in May.. holy cow!
ReplyDeleteGee it got down to 50 yesterday and we had a fire in the woodburner but if it snowed like at your place I would cry. I have been planting outside so I will think of you!
