How Does Your Garden Grow? Week 7

I can't believe it's been seven weeks since we started thinking about our garden and planting seeds to later be transferred to the ground!
I'm lovin' this jalapeno plant!

The spinach I thought wasn't doing so well really took off and I harvested several leaves today that went into my sandwich at lunch!
We'll take a look at some of the flowers...

Here's the peony plant with great big buds on it. Won't be long now!

There are a couple of lily plants that have buds...
And here's the vegetable garden. We put cages around the tomatoes this week. We originally planted four zucchini plants and only two made it -- which may be a good thing since one of our neighbors told us last night that they're not big on "green things". I hope the other neighbors like green things because I'm sure we'll have plenty to give away!

Here's a few other gardens: Mary's Mississippi Garden and Debbie's Nevada Garden

  6. Looks great! Our peonies are long gone and I have already had to trim back my salvia. The deer ate all of my mammouth sunflowers and I am not sure yet if I will replant some seeds?? Too bad.

  7. Wow,Karen, it looks great. So pretty. I think it's funny that your neighbors don't like "green" things. How can you not? LOL
It's RAINING again today. One would think I lived on the coast and not in the desert. but it makes my yard look nice.

  10. Wow Karen your entire yard is awesome! What a nice space you have to hang and enjoy the sunshine! Good thing you have that tall fence though, if I lived closer you might be missing some green things ;-)

  12. Your gardens are beautiful, Karen! I spent the whole day in mine, weeding and listening to the happy sounds from the chicks whose mobile pen was right next to me. BTW - Glad you're enjoying my chicks. I simply adore them.

I printed your mint chocolate chip ice cream recipe. We joined a milk coop and this week the milk is backing up. My husband decided we should make ice cream and the cannister has been in the freezer all week, but neither of us had the time. Now we have a recipe! Thanks.

  13. Beautiful! My little jalapeno plant is growing, too - I can hardly wait! Your vegetable garden is amazing; we opted out of full-scale veggies this year and are only doing tomatoes. We also had sunflowers but the critters ate all the tops off; so much for our 'critter killer' dog!
