The peonies bloomed this week! I love these things. They're so delicate and fragrant. The flowers are about 5 inches across!
We had rain the day they bloomed and all those petals collected the water. Under the weight, the stems fell to the ground.
When it stopped raining, I went out to rescue them...... and now I'm enjoying them inside.
This is the peony plant with more buds. When they bloom I'll bring them inside too.
Here's my jalapeno plant with a flower!
I was worried about the spinach at first. I didn't think it was going to come up, but look at all these leaves! I've been picking spinach every day to add to lunch sandwiches. This is one of the zucchini plants. These things grow so fast you can almost see them grow!
And here's the entire garden. The tomatoes have plenty of flowers. Onions, radishes and bell peppers are doing great.

Your peonies are just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYour peonies are gorgeous; Our peonies bloomed Mother's Day week.
ReplyDeleteYour garden looks beautiful; isn't it fun to check it each day?
Your peonies are beautiful. Don't you love their fragrance?
ReplyDeleteI love peonies but don't have any in the garden - might have to try find a bunch. Our tomatoes are looking sturdy but now flowers yet - hoping for some soon now the weather seems much warmer.
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeleteI forgot that today was Wed and I was supposed to do that.
It has turned hot now and I'm hoping the Handy-man will water like "I" water.
I'm leaving (on a jet plane).
I'll send you a postcard.
I definitely enjoyed it...I am gardening vicariously this year, so it brought a big smile to my face...now I just have to figure out how to eat vicariously ;)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful peonies. Mine have bloomed already, before I moved. I clipped them also. They make a gorgeous centerpiece when mixed with clippings from other perennials.
ReplyDeleteYour peonies are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI can almost smell the peonies. They are beautiful Karen!
ReplyDeletePeonies are such cheerful blooms. Sadly, with all the rains we have been getting clobbered with we aren't seeing the usually gorgeous display. Aren't you the lucky one!
ReplyDeleteYour peonies look fantastic. THey are pretty much gone by here.
ReplyDeleteThe garden looks great, too. THanks for sharing.
Peace, Judi
Very pretty. Such huge blossoms!
ReplyDeleteKaren, Your peonies are beautiful. They are my favorite flowers. I am so jealous of your beautiful garden. We have so much shade, I only have room for an herb garden.
ReplyDeletePeonies are my favorite! Every year I agonize over whether to pick my peonies or leave them on the plant. You've convinced me to pick them so I can enjoy them for more hours each day.
ReplyDeleteWe tried to make homemade ricotta a couple of days ago and it bombed (but the chickens loved it). I suspect it might have something to do with the raw milk, but I haven't had time to research it.
Next time I'm going with the recipe you used. I tried to visit Melissa's blog, but for some reason my internet connection wouldn't let me go there. I will try again.
Really enjoyed the garden tour!
ReplyDeleteI have made a little extra space in my yard by removing a shrub, maybe I'll plant a peony...

ReplyDeleteI remember when you showed us your garden in winter, then the late snow in spring ... well, look at you NOW!!
It makes me happy to see the difference, and with your nurturing how prolific your garden is. Bravo! xo~m.
I just found your blog, and it looks wonderful! You have a lovely garden and those peonies are breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are beautiful! The veggies look like they're growing by leaps and bounds. We have green peppers that should be ready to pick any day now, we're very excited! Sorry for my absence Karen I had a rough work week and had very little energy to do anything.
ReplyDeletePeonies are my favorite! these are gorgeous
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, Karen. I'm so envious of your garden. Mine consists of one tomato plant this year.
ReplyDeleteThe Peonies are lovely!
ReplyDeleteI am growing a lot of the same veggies. I'm so excited for my peppers!
Those pink peonies are gorgeous! We used to have white ones but never that big and after the 3 blooms were cut no more buds appeared until the following year. You are a lucky gal to have such a gorgeous growing garden and we are lucky you share it with us :-)
