Potato Soup

Soup weather has arrived and I'm happy! Nothing better than a bowl of hot soup when it's cold and windy outside!

I started this soup by searching for "potato soup" (what else?) on the internet (where else?). I settled on one, but like with most recipes I find, by the time they come off the stove or out of the oven, I've changed them up so much it's not even the same recipe anymore!

When soup weather arrives in your hometown, give this quick, easy, and tasty soup a try!

  3. I think my Mom made about three soups when I was growing up and Potato Soup was the most frequent. Delicious! The other two were Chicken and Noodle (homemade noodles) and Chili.

What kind of sausage did you use?

  9. Karen it just dawned on me that this would be a great soup for my non eating soup kids! Well they do eat chicken noodle and tomato but that is about it. They just started to like baked potatoes and so they would love to jazz up this soup with their favorite toppings! Thanks for the recipe, I will be making this and I'll let you know how it goes!

  10. Lea Ann: I used Portuguese Linguica in this soup, just because I had a link in the refrigerator and my gardener doesn't like meatless meals! I think any good sausage would do the trick in this soup!

I had to laugh, I do the same thing with recipes ~ I usually tweak the heck out of them by the time they reach the table. *grin*

  18. My husband typically doesn't like potato soup, but I think this one would change his mind. Your version is heartier with the bacon and sausage, and I like that you used red potatoes. I'm dying for a bowl!
